Colen was raised as a young boy in a great family in Iowa. He married his wife, Carla – the love of his life and the one who prayed and continues to pray for him each day.  They have three grown children – Luke (married to Kristall), Caroline (married to Peter) and Tyler (married to Kristina). They also have four wonderful grandchildren – Brayden, Emma, Noah and Colter). Colen feels truly blessed to be the head of a family that loves the Lord. 

He graduated from West Point and served over twenty-eight years in the Army. Then went on to serve ten years in business as a senior manager in a large networking and high-capacity computing firm. He has a Masters Degrees in Computer Science and Strategic Planning and recently graduated with a Master’s Degree in Theology from, The King's Seminary.

On his spare time Colen loves fly-fishing, woodworking and reading. But his real passion is serving the Lord. Colen feels humbled and honored to be the Chaplain at New Life Church.
