Kids Hope Appreciation Banquet for Mentors
April 27th, 1pm @Oasis room

To read a brief but beautiful and touching story about Kids Hope, click here

Over 90% of the kids at Queen Palmer Elementary are on government assisted breakfast and lunch programs. The majority come from single families. You can make a difference in the life of a child by mentoring a child at Queen Palmer Elementary. We are committed to being a consistent positive influence in the lives of young children in the Knob Hill community with one simple act – showing up. We will train you and there is no need to be a qualified teacher or a perfect coach. Your presence in the life of a child will make an incredible difference. We are also praying for a few more co-leaders to help with this amazing ministry.

Contact New Life Kids Hope Director, Leah Cowles using the email link below for information on how you can get involved or register for a training below!

Serve the City Day
May 3rd, 2014 from 9:00am to 12:00pm

Love the people of our city, ignite love as the norm, and change our world.

Every first Saturday of the month we join together and serve our city. There are five serving opportunities to get involved with organizations and ministries New Life supports.

1. Springs Rescue Mission (SRM)
   - SRM has been helping to make a real difference in the lives of homeless, poor and struggling families by providing critically needed food, clothing, household supplies and services. With this serving opportunity we will be helping at the shelter by sorting clothing, organizing the warehouse and sprucing up their facilities so that the SRM staff can focus more on the families in need.

2. Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN)
  - IHN brings the faith community together to help families in homeless situation by offering food and shelter in local faith congregations. With this serving opportunity we will be working at the Day Center by cleaning, landscaping, painting and helping to make it a clean and dignified place for these families.

3. Queen Palmer Elementary School
 - 90% of the children who attend this school come from both single parent families and are in government-assisted breakfast and lunch programs. With this serving opportunity we will be landscaping, raking leaves, cleaning, and painting chalkboards.

4. Dream Centers of Colorado Springs - Mary's Home
 -
Mary's Home offers a home for homeless single mothers and their children to rebuild their dreams. With this serving opportunity, we will be partnering with Centro Familiar Nueva Viva to deliver food and prayer around Mary's Home neighborhood.

5. Deliver a Meal to an Adoptive or Foster Family

- Many families have answered the call to care for the orphan, and it's not an easy journey. We want to show these families our support and help relieving some of the burdens to these foster and adoptive families. With this serving opportunity, we will be preparing, delivering and potentially sharing a meal with an adoptive or foster family. This can be flexible in its time and date.

This simple, one-time saturday Serve the City days are a great way to love your people.

Homeless Outreach - 5DM
With the attitude that our role is to love our neighbor, not fix or convert our neighbor, we meet at McDonald's on Platte and Wahsatch every Sunday night at 6pm, then head to America the Beautiful Park to feed and hang out with homeless folks in our city.

Bring $5 if you want to contribute to the burgers we hand out or simply come and spread the love to some of our most vulnerable friends downtown. We do our best to connect folks with healthy growth paths to wholeness and the One True God through relationship and love during our time together. Email Danny for more info at the link below.

Help Host Families without a home
For this opportunity, we opens up our doors at New Life to familes in Homeless situations. We do this in partnership with IHN along with other churches in Colorado Springs to provide housing and support to families working to become independent. This is an incredible way to spread the love of Jesus and put feet to our faith. To learn more about IHN as an organization visit the website.

We will need your help with:

- cooking a meal or part of a meal
- hosting for an evening or overnight
- helping with set up and tear down

Adoptive and Foster Family Support
May 13th, 2013 6:30pm - 8:30pm

We will host an Adoptive and Foster Family Support Night. It is a powerful thing to be able to look someone in the eye and say, "me too." This evening is meant to be a time of rest and refreshment for parents of adopted and foster children as they connect with other parents.  We will be providing childcare for the evening in a fun, inviting environment. We will need volunteers to help with childcare during the evening. If you're interested in hanging out with kids for a few hours and giving parents a night out and time to conect and encourage eachother, please email our team at newlifefosteradopt@gmail.com.
Royal Family Kids Camp
Once a year for one week, we take roughly 70 children in the foster care system, who have a history of abuse or neglect, to the cathedral of the outdoors for a week of positive memories and life changing moments. The stories of how kids are touched by the Father's love expressed through camp aunts and uncles, big campers, and the entire Royal Family is absolutely beautiful. We have finalized our staff this year (2014), but if you want to be involved with clubs and mentors after camp, use the email below to connect with RFK staff.

Mentoring Homeless Familes
If you have a desire to help end homelessness one family at a time, consider becoming a part of a team of 5-8 people who mentor one homeless family. This is a great idea for a small group who wants to wrap around a family in a missional way. Through life skills, budgeting, and mentoring we can be hand up to families in homeless situations. Mentor teams meet 1-2 times a month for 5-7 months.

Next Training is October 19th from 9am-1pm. Register for training below or email bwmikulas@newlifechurch.org for more info.
