Starting in 2001 my wife Jossie and I had the privilege of leading theMILL, a community of college students and 20-somethings in Colorado Springs, with the purpose of bending our lives around God and spreading His fame to the world around us.
We saw God do some profound things over the course of the last decade: the beginning group of 30 people grew to over 1000 in weekly attendance, over 1000 students participated in overseas mission trips, and more than we can count surrendered to Jesus, renewed their faith in Him and became wholehearted disciples.
In 2010 we sensed that a change was coming. After diligent prayer and leaning into wise council it was confirmed that we were to plant a local church with a similar culture to theMILL in Fort Collins, Colorado for people of all ages.
A wonderful chapter of our lives closed in September 2011 as we were sent out by the leadership and elders of New Life Church with full blessing and support. Weekly gatherings soon began in both Colorado Springs and Fort Collins for anyone interested in Mill City Church. A team quickly formed. Families, couples and singles from Ft. Collins, surrounding communities and even other states began moving to participate in what God was doing.
In October, weekly LIFT Team meetings were established for those involved in the pioneering effort. As this team continued to grow it became evident a location for services would soon be needed. Mill City Church started meeting on Sunday mornings on February 26th at the University Center for the Arts (the old Fort Collins high school) at 9:30A.
After a few months it became evident that something beautiful was happening and after six months a second service was started to accommodate this growing community. The services start at 9A and 11A. Our desire is not to pitch a product or rally for a project but instead to become a people. We long to be a community of faith that simply reflects the extravagant love of the Father, the saving grace of Jesus and the transformational work of the Spirit.
Fort Collins is an amazing city with many wonderful churches. We are honored to join in and come alongside what God is already doing. We look forward to how Mill City unfolds in the days and years ahead and hope this journey includes you.
