On September 16, 1999, the Lord placed a desire in the heart of Pastor Robert Morris to start a Bible-based, evangelistic, Spirit-empowered church in Southlake, Texas. Pastor Robert dreamed that this church would impact Northeast Tarrant County, the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and beyond. He began to build a leadership team and developed a working relationship with the pastors at Trinity Fellowship Church in Amarillo, Texas, asking them for wisdom and guidance.
On Sunday, April 9, 2000, Pastor Jimmy Evans and the elders of Trinity Fellowship Church prayed for and released Pastor Robert and the founding elders of Gateway to start the new church.
Where Gateway Church is today and where they’re going all began with a single step of faith that started a journey to see people saved, healed, set free, discipled, equipped, empowered and serving. Because there are always more people who need to hear about Jesus, Gateway plans to continue to seek the Lord’s direction for their future. Gateway is now one church meeting in multiple locations and are watching God’s plans unfold as they plant and oversee multiple campuses throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and across the United States.
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."
Luke 4:18–19
Gateway’s Vision is to see people saved, healed, set free, discipled, equipped, empowered and serving.
