New Life is sending Gregg Hampton to Rock Island, IL and the Quad Cities to plant a life-giving church!
Gregg's relationship with New Life began 7 years ago when he was a part of the school of worship and has been the director of our growing groups ministry the last couple years.
But in the last six months Gregg's heart has been breaking, much like Nehemiah, for his hometown area. The strong majority of people in Rock Island and the Quad Cities don't have a spiritual home and are living apart from God and His Family. Nearly 60% don’t affiliate with any religious congregation at all and upwards of 85% aren’t in a local congregation on any given weekend. The need is huge. The burden is great.
Gregg and his team will plant a life-giving church that believes no one should be left out, a church that will partner with existing churches, a church that will plant other life-giving churches so that everyone has the opportunity to belong in a spiritual house.
That's why this new church plant will be named “The House – A Local Church.” Too many are without a spiritual family. They don’t know they have been welcomed in as sons and daughters into God's great family.
The House's mission will be that in our lifetime we will see a massive shift from spiritual homelessness to a strong, undeniable sense of spiritual family in Rock Island and the Quad Cities.
